Hands-On Quilting: Ruler Work Basics Long
Take your quilting to the next level with ruler work! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to safely and confidently quilt with rulers on your sewing machine. We’ll cover proper ruler setup, grip and positioning, ruler foot usage, and techniques for stitching straight lines, curves, and simple designs. Students will practice on two quilt sandwiches made from 4 fat quarters and warm and natural batting that they bring to class. Perfect for quilters who are comfortable with free-motion quilting and ready to expand their skills with precision and control.
HOMEWORK: Using 4 fat quarters (keep colors and prints plain so you can see your work) and warm and natural batting. Make 2 Quilt Sandwiches that are 18” x 21” rectangles Prep with 505 spray rather than safety pins.
It's important to know the thickness of the ruler that your machine can handle. You'll also need a ruler foot specifically designed for your machine to use these rulers effectively. If you're uncertain about whether it will fit, feel free to reach out to us before making a purchase.
Your Machine must be no older than the year 2000 and in good working order. Pick up supplies prior to class.
