Classes - Machine Instruction
MACHINE INSTRUCTION CLASSES
Winter/Spring 2010
These classes are provided free to those who have purchased their new machine from Hayes Sewing Machine Company. Please ask any Hayes employee which class or classes apply to your machine. You must register in advance. You may register by phone or in person. You must bring your machine or serger, except for software classes. Basic supplies needed: Machine, cords, accessories that come withmachine, instruction book, notebook and pen, and thread. We will provide fabric kit. Hayes Sewing Machine Company welcomes Babylock, Bernina, Singer customers who have recently purchased their machines elsewhere to join our machine instruction classes for the fees listed by each class. Current models only. Class fee must be paid before each class.
101. BASIC SINGER 7400 SERIES SEWING MACHINE INSTURCTION CLASS
2 Hours Non-customer fee $50.00
Learn the basics of your machine! Start with basic threading. Change stitch lengths
and stitch widths. Learn to gather, make piping, hems, buttonholes, and various seam finishes. This class is for the Singer 7400 Series.

102. BASIC COMPUTERIZED
2 Hours Non-customer fee $50.00
Learn the basics of your machine! Start with basic threading. Change stitch lengths
and stitch widths. Learn to gather, make piping, hems, buttonholes, and various seam finishes. This class is for all computerized Babylock and Bernina sewing machines.

103. ADVANCED COMPUTERIZED MACHINE INSTRUCTION CLASS- BABYLOCK
2 Hours Non-customer fee $50.00
Continue to learn the wonders of your computerized sewing machine. Expand your knowledge of gathering and piping techniques. Explore appliqué and quilting
techniques. Learn the decorative stitches your machine can do. The most commonly used optional feet will be shown. This class is for all computerized Babylock sewing machines.

2 Hours Non-customer fee $50.00
This advanced class for the Bernina 200, 630, 640, and 730 sewing machines covers unique features like the setting button, which allows you to customize your machine, using the Personal program screen, editing in memory, using pattern elongation, and sewing sideways motion decorative stitches.

106. BERNINA 630, 640, 730, 820, 830 BSR LECTURE
1 Hour Non-customer fee $35.00
Learn the basics of connecting your BSR foot. Find out the difference between BSR1 & BSR2. Get some tips for decorative quilting. Bring a notebook and pen for this fun class.

Learn the basics of machine embroidery! Learn the correct way of hooping fabric. Understand your choices in stabilizers. Resizing, mirror imaging, placement, and alphabets will also be covered.

You’ve got the basics covered, now for some advanced stuff. Learn embroidery, hooping for difficult fabrics, and combining designs.

109. BERNINA 435/450 & AURORA EMBROIDERY/BSR LECTURE
2 Hours Non-customer fee $75.00
Learn the basics of machine embroider! Learn the correct way of hooping fabric. Understand your choices in stabilizers. Resizing, mirror imagine, placement, and alphabets will also be covered. Learn “EC on your PC.” The Bernina Stitch
Regulator will also be covered. You will not need your machine for this class.

110. BER 820/830 INTRODUCTION CLASS
4 Hours Non-customer fee $150.00
Come spend the day with us and learn the basics on your sewing machine and on the embroidery unit. Also covered, care and feeding of your new 830. Must bring your machine, embroidery unit, and accessories to this class. We will provide lunch.

111. BER 820/830 EMULATOR—DECORATIVE STITCHING
1 1/2 Hours Non-customer fee $75.00
Leave your machine at home. Bring a notebook and pen and learn from the 830 emulator. This emulator class will cover the ins and outs of decorative machine stitching. Learn to combine stitches and make use of connecting stitches. Learn to use your built-in alphabets and directional stitching. Personal program will also be covered.

112. BER 830 EMULATOR—EMBROIDERY
1 1/2 Hours Non-customer fee $75.00
Leave your machine at home. Bring a notebook and pen and learn from the 830 emulator. Learn continuous hooping, stitch density, mirror image, rotation and combining embroidery designs.

117. BASIC SERGER
2 Hours Non-customer fee $50.00
Learn the basics on your Bernina, or Babylock serger. Learn to thread, overcast, seam, sew knits, gather, and use differential feed and rolled hems.

118. ADVANCED SERGER
2 Hours Non-customer fee $50.00
For Babylock Imagines, Evolves, Enlighten & Evolution only! Master 2-thread work and cover hems. Also see some of the optional feet available for your serger, such as blindhem, elasticator, piping and cording.
